‘Freshly squeezed’ is a book I made shortly after the passing of my father in Florida on February 28th, 2016. The imagery used in the book is a collection of assorted images, all with personal significance.  A majority of the photos I took immediately following his passing at his business (a used auto parts business) and at our family home. The image of chairs is from the installation ‘185 White Chairs’ by New Zealand Artist Peter Majendie.

He created the installation to commemorate the loss suffered in Christchurch, New Zealand after an earthquake claimed the lives of 185 people.  I repeatedly reintroduced the font of a poem by American author and poet Jim Harrison that at the time I felt fitting to the circumstance. The collaged images are from the tabletop of a sideboard my father and I refurbished together when I was in my early twenties.
